The Faxon Duty Series Gunner Barrel for the 308 Winchester is manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave. The barrel is machined from certified 4150 GBQ steel with QPQ nitride coating for added durability and longevity. Each barrel is magnetic particle inspected (MPI) to ensure perfect surfaces and sub-surfaces as well as air-gauge tested to ensure superior accuracy. The Faxon Big Gunner is button rifled and features a medium-taper behind the gas block and a gas block journal set to .750", making it compatible with most common gas blocks. From the gas block journal forward Faxon uses a thinner taper, which is designed to reduce weight yet maintain rigidity for high rates of fire and as a suppressor host. The Duty Series Big Gunner barrels are ideal for use in competition, law enforcement, and military applications.
