Browning 1911-22 Features

The Browning 1911-22 is a semi-automatic, alloy-framed 1911 shaped pistol that operates on a direct-blowback action contrary to its inspiration that uses a short-recoil system.  It does, however, mimic the feel and handling of the classic 1911 with less recoil.  It continues to use a single-action trigger and hammer just like the original and has the same manual of arms.

Browning 1911-22 Capacity

The Browning 1911-22 is chambered in .22LR and cycles most reliably with standard-velocity 40gr ammunition.  The gun feeds from proprietary single-stack magazines that include a useful design feature where a knob sticks out the left side of the mag.  Though this is actually to engage the slide stop when the magazine is empty, it can also be used to assist the user in loading.

Browning 1911-22 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Browning 1911-22 has a right-hand control setup and matches the contours of the original M1911-A1 pistol.  The front of the grip is smooth while the grips are checkered to provide a little extra grip, and the slide has grip serrations flanking the rear sight.  The trigger pull has the same weight and a nearly identical feel to the classic and has basically no recoil.

Browning 1911-22 Fit & Finish

The Browning 1911-22 is an all-metal build where the frame and slide are anodized and blued (respectively) to prevent rust and corrosion.  The grips are made of actual wood and all of the controls are machined from steel.  As a .22 caliber pistol with an affordable price tag, there are definitely some visible signs of corner cutting, however the reliability is far superior to cheaper .22 caliber 1911 pattern pistols.

Fit and Finish

Browning 1911-22 Concealability

Concealability
Measuring approximately 7 inches long, 5.5 inches tall and 1.3 inches wide, the 1911-22 is the exact same size as the original.  This makes it rather difficult to conceal without more loosely fitting attire, however concealment is definitely an option if you have a good holster and it is properly placed on your person.  Wearing an undershirt may be required as the exposed controls can cause discomfort in certain positions.
