Century Arms C308 Features

The Century Arms C308 is a semi-automatic .308 caliber rifle that operates on a doler-delayed blowback action which allows the rifle to operate without the need of a gas system.  Due to its lack of a gas system and its semi-locked action, the C308 is an incredibly accurate and affordable rifle right out of the box.  It’s made with a stamped sheet metal receiver and is most commonly found with composite furniture, though wood stocks and handguards are available.

Century Arms C308 Capacity

The Century Arms C308 is chambered for 7.62x51mm (or .308WIN in countries that have been to the Moon) and uses CETME and HK magazines with capacities of 5 and 20 rounds.  Note: PTR pattern magazines WILL NOT work with the C308.
The C308 measures 40 inches long and weighs 9 pounds, making this gun somewhat difficult to carry over long distances.  Its reload process is slower and more involved than reloading other modern sporting rifles.  The longer length of the C308 prevents easy use in close-quarters environments, however the low-profile controls and simple geometry improve its ease in carrying through dense vegetation.

Century Arms C308 Mobility

Mobility

Century Arms C308 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The C308 is an American-made copy of the HK91/G3 rifle which is a derivative of the Spanish CETME rifle, and is semi-automatic only.  Its handling and controls are identical to the G3.  Both the safety and the magazine release are pretty far forward compared to other modern sporting rifles, and most users will have to stretch their hands or turn the rifle to reach them.  The charging handle is found over the handguard and folds down when not in use to minimize its profile.

Century Arms C308 Fit & Finish

The C308 is made of stamped sheet steel in its receivers while its internals look like they came from an Eastern-European sweatshop as the ugly welds show clearly through the black finish, however this rifle is durable and accurate enough to get away with such minor details.  Besides, who doesn’t love doing the HK Slap?
