FN FNS-40 Features

The FNS-40 is a polymer-framed, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol that operates on a Browning style short-recoil action with a tilting 4 inch barrel.  It is available in a variety of color schemes with the added option of having an optics-ready slide, threaded barrel and manual safety.  The iron sights are windage-adjustable and the trigger pull was one of the smoothest striker-fire triggers when it hit the market.

FN FNS-40 Capacity

The FNS-40, as its name implies, is chambered in .40 S&W and feeds from double-stack, single feed magazines.  While the standard magazine capacity of this gun is 14 rounds, limited 10 round magazines are available for users in states with silly gun laws.  Further, aftermarket parts suppliers offer replacement barrels that allow the user to fire .357 SIG ammo with a simple barrel change meaning you can use the same magazines to fire a different caliber.

FN FNS-40 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The FNS-40 has a full-sized grip with a comfortable yet effective grip surface and it comes with replaceable back straps allowing the user to tailor the gun to their hand.  All of the controls are ambidextrous including the magazine that can be engaged from either side without having to flip around the button.  The slide includes grip serrations on both the front and back of slide to offer better traction when manually cycling the action.

FN FNS-40 Fit & Finish

The FNS-40 hit the market in the mid-2010’s and had one of the smoothest actions and trigger pulls when comparing it to the Glock and M&P series striker-fired pistols that made up its competition.  This pistol has an incredibly smooth action and all of its steel components aside from the springs are made of stainless steel in order to prevent rust and corrosion.

FN FNS-40 Concealability

Concealability
The FNS-40 is a full-size pistol that can indeed be concealed with the right clothing and holster, though an undershirt should be worn to prevent the aggressive grip texturing from causing skin abrasions.  FN offers a compact version of this pistol called the FNS-40C that is much more easily concealed in more traditional all-weather attire.
