Rossi RS22 Features

The Rossi RS22 is a semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle that operates on a direct-blowback action similar to the Ruger 10/22 and Marlin Model 60.  The RS22 has a thin-profile 18 inch barrel topped with a hooded fiber optic front sight and a fully-adjustable rear sight while the receiver includes a .375” dovetail for mounting optics.  The receiver is also drilled and tapped to accept a Weaver or Picatinny style optics rail for more aftermarket options.

Rossi RS22 Capacity

The Rossi RS22 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a single-stack 10 round magazine.  This rifle is also available in .17HMR as well as .22WMR which uses a different magazine, however the mags are interchangeable between the two calibers thanks to the shared geometry of the calibers.
Measuring 36.2 inches long with an unloaded weight of 4.8 pounds, the RS22 is one of the lightest .22 caliber rifles on the market, and it is notably shorter than other rifles of the same class.  Its light weight makes it great for taking on long squirrel hunts as well as training young shooters, and its shorter overall length makes it a great choice for navigating thick brush.

Rossi RS22 Mobility

Mobility

Rossi RS22 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The RS22 has a typical control setup for a .22 caliber rifle including a reciprocating charging handle that is connected to the right side of the bolt, an AK-style magazine release located at the back of the magazine well, and a cross-bar safety located at the front of the trigger guard.  The stock includes a full-pistol grip and is designed with smooth contours that provide more comfort than they do at promoting a better trigger pull.

Rossi RS22 Fit & Finish

The build quality of the RS22 surpasses its price tag.  Even though its action gets dirty and gritty with very few rounds fired and the trigger is nothing to write home about, it is incredibly reliable when fed with a wide variety of ammo, and the composite stock is very sturdy.  The blue finish on the steel components is evenly distributed as well, and it doesn’t immediately rust like Remington guns.
