Cobray Street Sweeper Features

The Street Sweeper, also known by other manufacturers as a Striker-12 and a few other names, is a sort of semi-automatic shotgun that fires from a double-action trigger pull and has a fixed rotating cylinder.  Its stock folds over the top of the receiver allowing its overall length to be reduced about 30%.  This shotgun has been labeled as a Destructive Device by the ATF.

Cobray Street Sweeper Ballistics

Cobray Street Sweeper Capacity

The Cobray Street Sweeper is chambered in 12 gauge and feeds from a spring-wound revolving cylinder.  Rounds are loaded into the cylinder via an arduous and time-consuming process that is very similar, both for loading and unloading, to a Single Action Army revolver.  Rounds are loaded through a port in the cylinder and spent/unfired cartridges are ejected with the aid of a manually operated ejector rod.

With an unloaded weight over 9 pounds, a loaded weight exceeding 10 pounds and an overall length of 39 inches, the Striker / Street Sweeper offers worse mobility scores than any box magazine fed shotgun.  This is further hindered by the sheer width of the cylinder and the awkward reloading technique making it possibly the worst shotgun ever issued to police units.

Cobray Street Sweeper Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Street Sweeper has a vertical front grip to compensate for the oversized cylinder and a folding stock made of stamped steel that is liable to cut your face open if you try and get a cheek weld on it.  This gun’s lack of sights seems to suggest it’s not supposed to be aimed at a target so much as just pointed in its general direction in the hopes it gives the intended results.

Cobray Street Sweeper Fit & Finish

The Street Sweeper is made with a lot of stamped steel parts and has an aluminum cylinder that makes it very susceptible to getting worn out rather quickly.  The spring loaded cylinder needs to be properly wound up to function properly, and even then it’s pretty hit-and-miss.  All of the steel components are powder-coated with a matte black finish and the barrel has a cylinder bore.
