The ALG Defense ALG Combat Trigger (ACT) is an enhanced Mil-Spec type AR-15 trigger. The ACT is very similar to Mil-Spec units in pull weight, but the polished surfaces and hard-lubing result in a smoother pull with a sharper break. The ACT now includes two hammer springs. The purple hammer spring installed on your ACT will provide an approximate pull weight of 4.5 lbs. You can replace the purple spring with the provided tan spring, giving you a pull weight of 6.0 lbs. The Mil-Spec pull weight makes this trigger perfect for users who want all of the rugged reliability of a standard trigger combined with the added benefits of an improved pull and a sharp, clean break. The trigger and hammer are 8620 steel alloy and the disconnector is 1070 high-carbon steel, all tempered and hardened to Military Specifications. The included pins are 4140 tempered chrome moly steel that is centerless ground to 0.001" larger than stock for an improved fit within the lower receiver, while still remaining slip-fit and field serviceable. The tempering of the pins keeps debris from imbedding into them and wearing on the lower pin holes which can occur with softer pins. The springs used with the ACT are full power to maintain positive ignition with all types of ammunition. The hard lube coating used on the ACT triggers is a modified electroless nickel plating with a Boron or Teflon additive. This modified coating improves surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. Testing shows that the electroless nickel coating improves the single stage pull. The trigger components are coated with Nickel Boron for its surface hardness and wear resistance, while the hammer, disconnector and pins are coated with Nickel Teflon for the low friction coefficient. The specific coatings of each part contribute to the improved feel and durability of the ALG Combat Trigger.
