The Vortex flash hider uses a patented 15 degree, right hand helical flute design to eliminate muzzle flash. Used by US armed forces worldwide as well as US Dept of Homeland Security and law enforcement across the nation. Machined from ordnance grade 8620 steel and finished with a mil-spec phospate. Designed specifically for the Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM 16 carbine, this 3-piece kit includes a Vortex flash eliminator, Smith Enterprise M14 recoil compensator, and Gas Lock front sight base. The Gas Lock replaces the factory front sight/castle nut configuration, and offers the benefit of tightening up the gun's gas cylinder unit in a manner similar to match gas cylinder assemblies. The Gas Lock features a sight dovetail at the correct height for the SOCOM's 16" barrel, allowing the use of standard USGI, National Match, or Tritium front sight posts (not included). The Vortex flash hider and M14 recoil compensator are interchangeable, and thread directly to the Gas Lock's integral 9/16"-24 threads.
