I am a fan of the KelTec PMR-30

I am a fan of the KelTec PMR-30.  A .22 magnum. with a 30 round capacity is serious firepower.
For years different companies attempted to master the reliability of an auto loader chambered in .22 magnum, but with very limited success. Companies like Grendel and Parker got close, but no cigar! KelTec was able to pull a rabbit from the hat.
Now what I would really like to see is this nifty KelTec pistol to be chambered in the .17HMR. You talk about a game changer!!
• The pressures when fired are very different. The Hornady Vmax in a .22mag pushes fps velocities upward towards 2,000 with a 30gr bullet.
• The .17HMR propels the little 17gr bullet out at around 2,500fps. The “shock power” of engaging a target with this round is stunning!
There were a couple of auto loaders in the .17HMR, but they were quickly recalled due to what they claimed were “safety precautions”. The REAL TRUTH is that many bulletproof vests were unable to stop that little bolt of lightning . For that and other obvious reasons, I cannot imagine a more suitable home protection piece if such a gun were made available! Body armor is available in many states and virtually anyone with $3-400 can buy a TAC 3 or TAC 2 vest.
It is better to think through a scenario before it takes place than it is to drown in the sea of regret.
