FN 510 MRD Features

The FN 510 MRD is a polymer-framed, semi-automatic, striker-fired pistol that operates on a Browning style short recoil action with a 4.1 inch tilting barrel.  This pistol is built with an optics-ready slide topped with suppressor height sights and is also available with a 4.6 inch threaded barrel in case you want to add a suppressor.  The frame includes a section of picatinny rail that allows the user to attach lasers or weapon lights to assist in aiming and in low-light conditions and is available with and without an external thumb safety.

FN 510 MRD Capacity

The FN 510 MRD is chambered in 10mm Auto (Best mm) and feeds from a double-stack, single-feed magazine with a standard capacity of 15 rounds.  Magazines limited to 10 rounds are available for users in states with capacity restrictions thanks to this pistol having complete magazine compatibility with the full-size FN 510.

FN 510 MRD Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The FN 510 MRD has fully-ambidextrous controls that include a magazine release that can be engaged from either side without having to flip parts around, a slide release, and an optional thumb safety.  The slide has grip serrations that flank both the front and rear sights that offer plenty of grip when you need to manually cycle the action.  The backstrap along the grip is easily replaced with different size panels allowing the user to tailor the grip to their hand, and the texturing on the grip is a significant improvement over the FNS and FNX pistols.  The front and back side texturing has a shingled square pattern while the sides have flattened pyramids topped with a rippled thumb rest section.

FN 510 MRD Fit & Finish

The FN 510 MRD is available in a typical all-black theme, it’s available with a tan frame and black slide, and it’s also available in the not-quite-matching-color tan-on-tan color scheme that FN was once mocked over, but has now become a standard that spans across the entire industry.  These guns are made to the same build quality as other FN firearms and are most easily described as optics-ready FN 510’s.

FN 510 MRD Concealability

Concealability
Measuring 7.7 inches long, 6 inches tall and 1.45 inches wide, concealing this pistol is effectively a no-go.  No matter how baggy, long or floofy your clothing is, the grip is almost guaranteed to push the fabric away from you to let everyone know you’re packing heat.  This pistol is most easily rocked in an open-carry setup such as an overpriced Safariland tactical belt or a government-purchased duty belt.
