yes they will fit and work but if you plan on carrying it with the 8 round mag I suggest adding a X-grip adapter topgunsupply.com/x-grip-1911c2-officers-two-piece.html

Liewellyn, yes, standard 8rd magazines will function but, will extend just a tad of course.

Llewellyn, You should have no problem with an 8 round 1911 magazine. Should function with 10, 15, 25 round 1911 magazines also.

Yes it should, although all 1911's in my experience have been a little finicky in deciding which magazines they like to feed from.
